Sanctuary

Update: I won an award for this painting at the opening.
Not sure what I won yet, we were out of town
(I think it was the Cadscarlet award, an honor to recieve)
Flying by the seat of my pants, again! I just finished this painting, Sanctuary, for the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society member show. (May 2 - June 6th at Gallery Sim, Carson Street, Pittsburgh, PA)
It has been awhile since I have done an actual painting, not just a demonstration. I missed it.
Drop off is today and I better go cut a mat and get this framed!

Absolutely fabulous. The towers have a personified presence, the overhanging roof eaves echoing the browline and shadow at the hairline in your grandmothers face. Very interesting composition.

Impressive!!! Good luck with the judges and the show. Is this a full sheet?
